Join us to launch the canoes from Tom Huang’s Kaw River Canoe Workshop. Bring your canoe, kayak, paddle boat, or alternative river craft to paddle and float with us to the KU boathouse. If you don’t have a boat, don’t worry! A few extra seats will be available on a first come, first serve basis, in kayaks and canoes generously supplied by The Friends of the Kaw. A potluck picnic and Plein Air Water Panel will follow the float in Burcham Park. Tom will lead our panelists in a discussion about environmental water concerns and the importance of good river stewardship. Panelists are Dawn Buehler with Friends of the Kaw, Jeanette Klamm with the City of Lawrence’s Utilities Department, Sarah Hill-Nelson with The Bowersock Mills and Power Co.
