Join us for a sneak peek of Ric Averill’s new musical, as the Lawrence Arts Center partners with guest artists from New York City’s premiere company, Rebel Playhouse. In this delightful new musical, a 5th grader named Q has to face a terrible day filled with an oral report, bullying friends, a math test, and, worst of all, the decision of whether to try out for the boys’ or girls’ soccer team. Fortunately, a homeless neighbor, NIX, seems to have all the magical items Q needs to complete their dangerous journey.
Puppets are currently a work in progress that will be completed for the NYC premiere. The director is using this workshop to try out a few of the puppets to make sure they’re working well, and several of the prototypes will be featured in the show. The puppet ifeatured n the photo, left, is the Dad character. Almost all of the actors will be operating puppets in the final production.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see this new production before it premieres this December at the 14th Street Y in New York City!
