Sing in a Summer Sunday morning with The Father of a Father’s Day Concert — free family fun with a few funny Ric Averill stories, songs & singalongs!
As Artistic Director of Performing Arts Emeritus at the Lawrence Arts Center, Ric Averill teaches acting and playwriting, composes music, directs, acts, plays an array of musical instruments. While at the Arts Center much of his focus has been in theatre, but first love is writing, arranging, and performing music – especially when his audience is children. His performances frequently feature accordion, piano, banjo, and more, and don’t be surprised if sometimes his voice quacks. Averill says his goal is for children and families to leave his shows with “a better perception of our shared humanity. That we’re all in this together, and we can make things better by listening to each other.”
