One of our most widely used studios at the Lawrence Arts Center is the Ceramics studio. From preschool all the way through retirement community students, we program many different ways to explore the world of clay. For young students interested in that first discovery of clay, Andrew Cho teaches Clay Creations to 1st-2nd Graders on Tuesdays and to 3rd-5th Graders on Mondays. Students develop their unique artistic style while gaining an understanding of the fundamentals of working with clay. They watch as their creations take form before their eyes.
Another fun class in the world of ceramics that we are so happy to bring back is Family Pottery. Students and parents work together to make projects using both the potter’s wheel and handbuilding. It is open to 1st-5th graders and an accompanying family member. This is a great way to spend time with your child, discovering creativity together. Come have fun in our Ceramics studio and make some art in the process!
