Creative Youth Development Programs

Student drawing self portrait The Lawrence Arts Center offers a place for young people in 6th through 12th grades to immerse themselves in project-based, creative environments where they can develop real-world experience and hands-on arts-based job skills.  Creative Youth Development Programs include:

  • PLAY12 brings students together to produce a public performance–whether dance, music, or theatre–each month. For more information, contact Elizabeth Sullivan, Director of Performing Arts, elizabeth@lawrenceartscenter.org.
  • stARTup gives students the professional training and  materials they need to jumpstart a career as a visual artist. Question? Contact Neal Barbour, Director of Youth Education,

  • Lawrence Ballet Theatre company is the resident pre-professional ballet company of the Lawrence Arts Center with the mission to provide extensive training, performance opportunities and artistic experience to dancers seeking to develop advanced experience in preparation for a professional career in dance. Students age 14+ are also welcome in adult classes, unless otherwise indicated in the description.
