There’s that thing you can’t shake: the movie that seemed to be speaking directly to you, the TV show episode that haunted you for weeks, the song that still reminds you of that one person. In this class, we will explore how being a fan can fuel the way we understand ourselves. Inspired by pop culture essays, we will figure out how to balance exploration of a pop culture fascination with exploration of the self.
