Youth Visual Arts Studio Aide

The Youth Visual Arts program is looking for studio aides to assist with kids summer camps and specific school’s out day camps this Winter/Spring. Studio aides help our youth instructors in the studios with set up and clean up, and hands on help with students and their art projects. Applicants should be comfortable around children ages 6-12 and using basic art supplies. Studio aide shifts for summer camps are either in the mornings, from 8:30AM-1:00PM, overseeing a small group of students for lunch, or in the afternoons, 12:30-4:45 PM, for a week at a time. We offer flexibility with any summer traveling, and scheduling may vary week to week during the summer.

Please disregard the “Apply for This Position” section at the bottom of this page. Hourly pay is $11 an hour. Studio aides also receive a free Lawrence Arts Center class per year.

Studio aides gain experience in classroom settings, shadowing art teachers and learning classroom management, working with children, as well as a variety of art-making techniques. 

In addition to summer camps, we are specifically looking for availability to help with school’s out camps in 2026 on Feb. 6, Feb. 13-14, Mar. 16-20, and Apr. 17, please indicate if you would be available on any or all of these dates. 

• Possess some basic experience with art materials and tools appropriate for children ages 6-12. 
• Be comfortable conversing with children and willing to direct them as needed.  
• Be dependable, punctual, and able to stay on-task.
• Be 16 years old or older.
