Aaron Storck
2010 Project-Based Artist in Residence

The Lawrence Arts Center has awarded its first Project-based Residency to Lawrence artist, Aaron Storck. The goal of this new program, funded in part by a grant from the Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission, is to help support, sustain, and foster growth in local arts and artists by providing material support for development of special projects, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary works, helping local artists to create works competitive on a national scale.Storck will work in the Lawrence Arts Center to develop a high definition video to coordinate with an installation scheduled in the front gallery of Lawrence Arts Center and a large-scale painting. The works will then travel to a group show at the PAFA Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, opening October 22. The show, curated by Julien Robson of PAFA, and co-curated by Chris Cook of Salina Art Center (among others), is entitled HERE, and features 24 artists from 6 regions around the country.
