May 14-15 | 2021 End of Year Showcases
Select youth and adult classes are invited to perform in the End of Year Showcases held outside, on the 940 New Hampshire Street Stage, on May 14-15. This annual event celebrates the achievement of the School of Dance students through senior solos and class-based performances. Students enrolled in youth classes are required to confirm their participation at the time of class enrollment. Any performer status changes after April 1st will result in a $25 fee.
Student participation is free and includes one complimentary ticket to the primary caregiver.

May 15-16 | LBT Spring Concert
Join the Lawrence Ballet Theatre for an outdoor concert in front of the Lawrence Arts Center. Celebrating its 10th season, the Lawrence Ballet Theatre’s annual spring concert will feature the beautiful waltz from Act I Swan Lake and the works of regional choreographers: Jerel Hilding, Tristian Griffin, Paige Comparato and Cynthia Crews. Join us as we highlight more than 20 company dancers in contemporary and neo-classical works at this joyous outdoor dance festivity.
June, July & August | Summer Programming: Intensives, Camps, and Ensembles
Lawrence Dance Intensive
Since 2016, the Lawrence Dance Intensive has provided quality artistic and development opportunities to dancers across the region with accomplished faculty, guest artists, and choreographers. This summer, it returns to host a series of one-week summer programs for ballet dancers ages 10 to 18 years in the Lawrence Arts Center dance studios. Based on a diverse and well-balanced curriculum, this program is designed to develop the artists of tomorrow. Check out the webpage here for more information!

Summer Dance Performance Ensembles
Join a Summer Performance Ensemble to present original choreography with your fellow dancers on the outdoor stage at South Park. Each ensemble is restricted to only 9 dancers who will perform 1-2 dance works. Deadline to enroll is June 19. Final showing is scheduled for July 29 at 7:30 pm. Enroll here!

Summer Dance Film Project
CONTEMPORARY DANCE FILM
Directed and Choreographed by Tristian Griffin
Calling intermediate to advanced dancers to be part of an original contemporary dance film directed and choreographed by Tristian Griffin! This film will highlight the beauty and power of our community as it regains connections that were once lost. Enroll here!
Rehearsals will happen on Wednesday’s from 1-4pm June 9-30th. The film will premiere on July 30th.
COMMUNITY DANCE FILM
Directed by Ric Averill
Choreographed by Eleanor Goudie- Averill
Inspired by the “Harlem Shake,” a dance that was created by a Harlem dancer Al. B. in the early 1980s when it became a global phenomenon celebrating its wild energy and enthusiasm. This film seeks to assemble a collection of Lawrence movers of all- ages. Participants will be part of the creative process and require no prior dance experience. This will be an Averill- Arts Center experience you won’t want to miss! Enroll here!
Rehearsals will be held between July 6th and August 7th. The film will premiere online on August 27th.
Summer PerfromaDancExplorium- Charlotte’s Web
Join us in the studio and at the South Park outdoor stage as we explore E. B. White’s tender tale of the wise spider Charlotte and her quest to save Wilbur the pig. In this magical barnyard adventure, participants will weave together dances, costumes, and sets that celebrate the extraordinary friendships and acts of bravery on Zuckerman’s farm. The second week of this camp will be held outside at the South Park outdoor stage with a final performance on Thursday, June 24 at 10:00 am. Don’t miss this terrific, radiant production! This camp will be held Monday – Thursday 9:00am-11am June 14th- June 24th.
