Adult Arts Featured Teacher: Lora Jost

We would like to give a special shout out to our drawing teacher Lora Jost, whose Sound the Climate Alarm exhibit is showing in the middle gallery from October 30-December 21.

Jost’s art is experiential–drawing upon socially urgent themes, incorporating textures and mosaic patterns, and blending elements of nature with dash of fantasy. For a further exploration into her process, attend Jost’s upcoming gallery talks at 6:30 pm Thursday, November 19, and 4 pm Saturday, December 5.

If you’re interested in learning more or getting tips from the artist herself, mark your calendars to enroll in her class this spring!

Imaginative Drawing with Lora Jost

Wednesday, March 24-May 21, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

This beginning drawing class focuses on drawing as a playful, meditative, imaginative process. Exercises in our sketchbooks will help students learn to love drawing while exploring expressive mark-making, the pleasures and importance of doodling, transforming random marks into colorful characters, “daily drawing” observations, exaggerating and distorting from reference photos, and much more.

This class has a non-refundable supply kit fee included of $40. Instructions on how to pick up the kit will be sent out before the class starts.

Can’t wait until spring? You can also setup a private lesson with Lora Jost.
