A Day in the Life of a Nutcracker

You might think the life of a Nutcracker is an easy one.

Nights filled with adoring fans ….

and days filled with relaxing activities…

But the role certainly has its ups and downs…

So, yesterday, when I felt I just might be starting to crack, I took a few deep breaths and went to the Lawrence Public Library.

Margo, the Youth Services Assistant, did not even seem to think I was nutty for asking her to read to me.

With my morning jitters gone, I started to feel a bit sleepy. I thought about taking a nap, but I have nightmares about scary rodents this time of year.

In search of a bit of a pick me up, I wandered into a local coffee shop called Z’s Divine Espresso.

And what to my wondering eyes should appear?

Nutcracker Mocha on the menu so near!

Feeling energized and inspired, I was ready to join the grasshoppers and snowflakes in the dressing room. I may have even started to miss Fritz a little bit…

Whether this is your first year of seeing The Nutcracker or your fiftieth, I hope you get swept away by the majestic soldiers, mischievous rodents  mice, and a flurry of snow this holiday season.

Until next time —
