Register now for 2023 Winter-Spring stARTup Guided Studios and Workshops!
stARTup encourages teens to create, think, and connect with other art-minded high-schoolers through weekly studio practice and special workshops. This program introduces the professional, academic, and social aspects of making art. Participants can combine workshop experiences with guided studio opportunities to build an academic portfolio, learn what it takes to become a professional artist, or simply hang out and make art with others.
Guided Studios: What’s it all about?
stARTup’s Guided Studios is a chance for teen artists to explore personal ideas in a relaxed atmosphere while meeting other art-minded teens. Participants will choose an art medium to explore a personal idea, utilizing the Arts Center’s professional equipment, tools, and studios. Students can select from ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, metalwork, or more. Over the course of eight weeks, students will receive individualized instruction and guidance from mentor-artists to help realize their ideas and build strong studio habits. This is a unique opportunity to experiment with new media, hone a personal style, and create art without the restrictions of a traditional learning environment.
