Spring Shows to Celebrate Dance in Outdoor Performances

Dance is taking it to the streets this spring with two upcoming shows to be staged in front of the Arts Center as outdoor concerts! The End of Year Showcase and the Lawrence Ballet Theatre’s Annual Spring Concert will be presented on our outdoor stage in the 900 block of New Hampshire.

Both live events were canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic, but 2021 promises to bring all the joy and beauty back to an in-person audience!

The End of Year Showcase will kick off three days of dance with six performances on May 14 and 15. The show will feature select youth and adult classes performing choreographed pieces that highlight their accomplishments. The annual event also includes performances from our soon-to-be-graduating high school students, who will showcase their achievements in senior solos. We look forward to celebrating our students’ technical and artistic growth with their families and friends!

The Lawrence Ballet Theatre will follow with two performances on May 15 and 16. Now in its 10th season, LBT  is the resident pre-professional ballet company of the Arts Center, providing extensive training and performance opportunities to local dancers. We are celebrating this year with the beautiful waltz from Act I Swan Lake and the works of regional choreographers Jerel Hilding, Tristian Griffin, Paige Comparato and Cynthia Crews. The performance will highlight more than 20 company dancers in both contemporary and neo-classical works.

Please join us for three days of dancing to celebrate spring and all the work that our incredible dancers have put in during the past year. Seating is limited. Tickets for all shows are available online!
