Early Childhood Education Program Starts the School Year Safely & Creatively!

A child paints at an easel.

The 2020-21 school year in the arts based preschool and kindergarten programs is off and running with new health and safety regulations in place. Class sizes and durations may be shorter, but creative play is still front and center of this groundbreaking curriculum.

“We had a gloomy weather week last week, but that didn’t put a damper on the smiles under our masks. We are so happy to have our families back at school. We spent a good part of our week outside (even in the rain) safely playing, creating and practicing patience while waiting our turn for drop-off and pick-up. Our safe opening plan utilizes our outside classrooms every day. Long uninterrupted outside play time is so important to developing a sense of belonging, community, self-regulation and problem solving. We are all remaining flexible and each day we count on learning something new.”

– Andria Devlin, Associate Director of Early Childhood Education

And for those not ready to return to a traditional classroom routine, the Early Childhood Education program has plenty of options to get everyone creating safely this fall! With virtual classes, kits and hybrid options still available, your young ones will be coloring outside the lines in no time.
