It’s time for a big winter announcement!

The Snow Queen is coming February 21, 22, 28, and 29! Join us for a brand new collaboration between Performing Arts & the School of Dance as the Lawrence Arts Center revives the history and inspiring story of the Snow Queen through dance, song, and live orchestration. Based on the same Hans Christian Andersen story that inspired the hit Disney movie, Frozen, the story centers on the struggle between good and evil as taken on by young heroine, Gerda. Weaving together dramatic and comic scenes and dances performed by an 11-piece orchestra, Gerda embarks on a quest to save her playmate, braving sorceresses, robbers, and the Snow Queen in order to rekindle Kai’s inner flame of kindness. The production will feature a cast of over 100 actors, dancers, and singers of all ages.

Auditions for actors, singers, and dancers will take place in January. Take a look at our audition announcement for more information! Audition forms will be available online starting November 10th.

A few reminders about November performance opportunities…

Join us for our final weekend of Ghosting Lawrence: A Theatrical Tour of Downtown Haunts with Ric Averill on October 31- November 2. Based on authenticated hauntings, Ghosting Lawrence tells a tale of a town transported, burned, scarred, Phoenixed, uplifted and yet still haunted by ghosts from Quantrill’s Raid through the mid-1900s.

Our Story Slam series continues on Friday, November 8th with the theme “Underdog.” Live music by Luke Paul and Cat Rodeo begins at 7 pm and the slam starts at 7:30 pm. Never the same story, or evening, twice.
