KPR Presents: Woodstock, 50 Years Later | KPR

On Sunday, August 4, 2019 by Kaye McIntyre

Week of August 4, 2019: This month marks the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, the three-day music festival that came to symbolize 1969 counterculture. We’ll get a sneak peek at “Back to the Garden,” the Lawrence Arts Center’s celebration of Woodstock, with special events and a photography exhibit. We’ll also explore the 1960s-1970s counterculture here in Kansas, with area residents interviewed last year at the Watkins Museum of History’s “Free State, Free Spirits” event.
