Beach Balls and Traffic Cones Abound

Domestic Perserverance, the exit show of Ceramic Artist in Residence Nate Ditzler opened on June 28th and will be on display in our Middle Gallery until July 20th. Nate will present his artist talk on Thursday, July 11th at 7:00 PM and will discuss the technical and conceptual aspects of his often dimmunitive,  occasionally overscaled, diaroma style tableaus.

New Classes Beginning Soon

We have new classes beginning the week of July 7th. If you missed registration in June, there is still room for enrollment in Posters that Sing with designer, musician, and new LAC visual arts instructor Nicholas Stahl, as well as Counter Culture Cloth with Anne Luben. Exhibition Back to the Garden: Photographs of the 1969 Woodstock Festival will open on August 9th in our gallery, and we can’t think of a better way to experience the exhibition than by taking a class that merges visual arts craft with a pop cultural music theme. Enroll now to create an outstanding show poster or the perfect patch for your denim jacket.

Adult Visual Arts is Seeking a Ceramics Intern!

Did you know that we have internship programs in both Printmaking and Ceramics? Our internship programs are an excellent fit for those looking to explore running a multi-use community studio, while allowing studio access for self directed work, as well as free area classes to engage with LAC faculty and provide support to our Artists in Residence. Currently, we are seeking a ceramics studio intern. Please visit our employment page for further details about job responsibilities and appplication proceedures.

As always,

Hope to see you in the studio!
