This Final Friday, we’re celebrating youth art! Along with the Annual USD 497 Exhibition, opening Friday, April 26th, five artists from the Lawrence Arts Center’s stARTup cohort will hold solo show receptions at downtown galleries. Artists Quincy Grove, Symon Knox, Ruby McLendon, Wil Myslivy, and Addie Thornsbury began working within our stARTup professional development program in the Fall of 2018 to strengthen their portfolios, create websites, improve arts-based writing skills, and discuss exhibition planning. These Final Friday shows are a culmination of participation in the nine-month program and promise to showcase their strong individual artistic voices. Join us for:
Quincy Grove, A Girl on Grandma’s Dishes

Quincy experiments widely with her mediums and materials and primarily works with acrylic paint, found objects, resin, silicone, and odds and ends. Her pieces often communicate an interaction between the human figure and nature in conjunction with personal struggles with mental and physical health.
