School is back in session and for the Lawrence Arts Center, that means we’re in planning mode for our after-school arts programming. Some of us are knitting sweaters, others are dreaming about pumpkin lattes, but all of us are looking forward to weathering the chill outside in the comfort of our studios.
This week we’re highlighting two after-school programs for Creative Youth Development that are enrolling until September 8th. Focusing directly on young artists’ professional development, innovation in technology, community engagement, and imaginative experimentation, these programs offer space for creative spark as the days get darker.
A professional development class for artists from grades 9 to 12. stARTup helps build your portfolio, website, and writing skills, and provides guidance in pricing your work and exhibition planning, culminating in a Final Friday solo show for participants. Two scholarships are available to the program, as well as financial aid.
To apply, email Director of Youth Education Neal Barbour at email@example.com with a letter of intent and three images of your artwork.
