Meet Our New Instructors: Katie Foster and Fuko Ito!

Katie Foster

Poet Katie Foster joins the Lawrence Arts Center from Brown University where she received her MFA in Literary Arts. You can learn more about Katie, and explore her interactive works and visually engaging forms here. Looking to expand your own writing? You can enroll in Katie’s new class this fall, Poetry: Finding Form, where you will refine your own poetry through the strategy of playful experimentation and a creative visual approach to written structure.

Fuko Ito

Printmaker, Bookmaker, and illustrator Fuko Ito will be teaching Beginning Printmaking this fall. A master of varied techniques, including mokuhanga woodblock carving, Fuko’s pastel blanketed worlds have us dreaming of cooler weather. Create your own relief prints, screenprints, collographs, and etchings with Fuko in our studio this Autumn.

Fall Session Classes:

Most of our fall session classes will begin the week of September 9th. We’ve added many new classes this session including Rapid Proto-Claying, Drawing Lawrence, Color Lab, Jewelry Stone Setting, Sculptures that Fly, Cut Paper, Cast Shadows: Introduction to Puppet Theatre, Consider the Multiple: Collograph + Relief, Pen to Periodical, Poetry: Finding Form, Writing: Of Ghosts and Goblins. We also have openings in our Monday Night Mixers: Ales & Tales: a Night of Word Games, Metals and Mead, and Drink and Draw.

We’re excited to offer this new line up, and to remind you that financial aid is available!

Adult classes are open to students 14 years of age and older. Click here to browse or search our fall class offerings.

We hope to see you in the studio!
