In the Kelly Galloway Kindergarten reading is an adventure!

Teachers and guest readers love reading aloud to the children—the most important thing for children learning to read is being read to. In the words of Mem Fox, internationally respected literacy expert, “Reading aloud and talking about what we’re reading sharpens children’s brains.  It helps develop their ability to concentrate at length, to solve problems logically and to express themselves more easily and clearly.”

Following are some creative ways we take the students on Reading Adventures:

“The Adventures of Dottie and Moby” our guinea pigs (similar to Flat Stanley)

“Snacktime Theater”—kindergarten version of Dinner Theater
