“Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy…” Words from George Gershwin musical Porgy and Bess are not always reality when young children are involved. At the Lawrence Arts Center we have so many creative opportunities for young children through adults. A few classes and camps for the youngest family members include:
July Coloring Outside the Lines—this child/adult class lets you be creative with your 2 or 3 year old.
Re-Imagining Art—teacher Kim will let you create masterpieces using recycled materials. We’ll have to take some things apart to make our new creations.
How can we make stories come alive and get our move and groove on at the same time? With music, creative movement, props, sets and lots of imagination! We have great choices with professional teachers Amanda and Paige. Classes include:
Take a Bow, Act It Out, Happy Feet and Move it!
Hard Hat Heroes is for the budding engineers and builders. Can we build with wood, paper, boxes, nature objects? As Bob the Builder would say, “Yes, we can!!”
Jumpin’ June Fun and Jazzy July Fun is two mornings per week of fun for 3 to 5 year olds! Indoors and outdoors, sand and water, paint and paper, and lots more. Integrated Arts – On Fridays is a great fun way to introduce your 3-5 year old to different mediums of art.
For the scientists and naturalists we offer: Art & Science: the Perfect Mix, Where Art & Science Meet, Get SmART with Art: Combining Art,
Science & Nature. Explore and create with our resident scientist–teacher Pat.
