Members of the education staff represented the Lawrence Arts Center at the Southern Graphics Council International (SGCI) this last week. This annual national printmaking conference is the largest print organization in North America, with thousands of attendees from all 50 states as well as Canada, South and Central America, and Europe. Print Fellow Tonja Torgerson, Artist-in-Resident Amanda Maciuba, and Director of Adult Education and Residencies Kyla Srid are in Portland spreading the word about our Printmaking Residency and the vibrant print community of Lawrence.
This year the Lawrence Arts Center also partnered with Wonder Fair, “the print palace of the great plains” that serves as a regional hub for the print community, to host a booth at the Publisher and Institution Fair in conjunction with SGCI. We are excited to share the great printmaking programs & activities available in Lawrence with the national print community!
