The Clay People are coming!
Next week is the 50th annual NCECA Conference in Kansas City, and to extend the timeline of celebrations even further, in the weeks leading up to the conference The Lawrence Arts Center (in partnership with The University of Kansas, Bracker’s Good Earth Clays, and multiple other local businesses and institutions) is hosting ceramic-centric (say that 3 times fast!) events all around the city of Lawrence.
Of course, there are exhibitions a-plenty celebrating the work and ingenuity of contemporary ceramicists from around the world. Last week, we opened 701 Louisiana at the Cider Gallery, our resident artist Christy Wittmer’s Turnhalle installation, Growlerfest at Free State Brewing Company, and the Salt & Pepper Shaker Show at Lady Bird Diner.
This week, the Artstream Nomadic Gallery will be visiting our home at 940 New Hampshire Street from Friday March 11th to Sunday March 13th, making an appearance during our biennial Ceramics Symposium. Of course, our 3 on-site galleries will be open, and visitors can come see the Naturally group exhibit, Lindsay Pichaske’s Kingdom, and new works by Kris Kuksi.
It’s not just the Lawrence Arts Center hosting shows either – check out http://prencecalawrence.com/ for a complete listing of receptions, workshops, and exhibits through KU, Bracker’s, and more!
