This is what thrills us about education and it’s our time to shine; summer at the Lawrence Arts Center is ripe with learning and excitement. We have 100 different week-long classes for K-12th graders where they can make incredible work in the arts. From clay to digital to cardboard to invisible ink to you name it, there’s something fun each week of summer and lots to choose from.
We offer ten weeks of ARTspace camps for 1st-5th graders that are designed to be an immersive experience. Each week is a theme-based investigation, from Art Detectives to a camp called Cool Gross Stuff, which focuses on the intricate workings of the human body. This summer the ever-popular box city will be Box Sydney! This is an opportunity to see spectacular cardboard sculptures and designs. All of the ARTspace camps are offered in mornings, afternoons, and full day.
Middle and high schools students have a myriad of options such as Secret Rain Stencils with Alicia Kelly, Darkroom Photography with Ann Dean, and Mega Drawing with Brandon Keenan. Let’s create elusive art and larger-than-life images together this summer!
