KINDERGARTEN ART DAYS FOR WEDNESDAY EARLY DISMISSAL
Kindergarten is a transitional learning stage where early learners bridge from preschool to “big kid” environments. On Wednesday Early Dismissal days, the Lawrence Arts Center offers classes for students in kindergarten that are taught by early education staff who incorporate more advanced skills and information while still honoring the developmental skills that are the hallmark of this age.
Outside the Studio
Art can happen outside the studio walls and outside the “picture on the wall” mindset. Creating art outdoors with natural materials and music and movement will be the norm for this class.

Mixing art and science gives young people a jump start on the understanding of both by putting problem solving and creative thinking skills to work. Students connect artistic concepts and materials with scientific principles.
A colorful plate means a healthy meal, and can be tasty too! Think about lemon yellow, berry red, blueberry blue and lime green to name a few.

In this camp students explore drawing, painting, printmaking, and other classical studio arts. Class concepts focus on basic art principles such as line, color, and shape.
Icky, Sticky, Ooey, Gooey
Inspired by “all things sticky” students create, build, and enjoy “hands-on sticky” activities. Imagine the sticky possabilities of clay, tape, glue, bubbles, and mud. Students will create amazing art guaranteed to broaden the imagination.

How are cooking and science alike? Students explore the science and art of cooking, and concoct a tasty treat to eat every day.
