Deadline: February 3
School of Dance End of Year Showcases
May 18 | 5:30PM, 7:30PM
May 19 | 10AM, 12PM, 5:30PM, 7:30PM
The Fall and Winter/Spring semesters culminate in the annual School of Dance End of Year Showcases on the Arts Center’s Mainstage. This event is a crucial component of the dance curriculum and a milestone in each student’s technical and artistic growth. The structure of these showcases is a little different than traditional dance recitals so please read the following thoroughly.
This event is only open to those who are currently enrolled in youth and adult dance classes. Adult classes have the option of performing in the annual End-of-Year Showcases held on May 19 at 7:30 pm. Details will be announced by the instructor. Youth classes are automatically guaranteed to perform, except for those listed under “in-class showing”. Youth students are required to confirm their participation in End-of-Year Showcases by Sat, Feb. 3. Registration fee is $15 and includes two pre-sale tickets to any showcase (these tickets are exempt from taxes and ticket agent fees which saves our families money).

Click here to view the End of Year Showcases Performance Schedule. Each class will perform in at least one of the showcases on May 18-19. A draft of the Showcase program order will be available for reference in the coming days but is subject to change.
One unique element of this program is that we do not require our families to purchase potentially expensive costumes. Because this event is part of each class’s curriculum, we aim to keep prices low by only asking students to purchase costume pieces if necessary. The School of Dance has a modest inventory of existing costumes provided to students at no additional cost. It is important that each student obtains the proper class attire; often class attire will serve as the base costume for the showcases. More information regarding costuming, makeup, and hair will be provided closer to the actual event.
Dress rehearsals occur during class time the final week of Winter/Spring classes, meaning some classes may have their dress rehearsal 1-8 days prior to the actual showcases. It is crucial for every student to attend these dress rehearsals, so please mark your calendars!
GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
Graduating seniors who have been a School of Dance student for at least 2 years and are currently enrolled in Ballet V (or higher), Tap III, Modern II, and/or Jazz III are provided the honor of performing a solo at the End of Year Showcases. If you are a senior, please contact the School of Dance Director via email (email@example.com) for more information.
For youth students who register for Showcases by Feb. 3, pre-sale tickets will be available for pick-up beginning in March. Additional tickets will be available to the public for purchase in April for $7 plus taxes and ticket agent fees. All tickets are general admission.
